Every Root Has a Story
In a small village, a farmer looked at his dry field and wondered if farming would ever be enough to feed his family.
At the same time, across the country, more and more people were searching for natural ways to live healthier lives. Ayurveda was returning to people’s homes, but the hands that grew these precious herbs were still struggling.
We believed there had to be a better way. Not just to sell Ayurvedic products – but to change lives.
Our journey began with a simple dream: to connect the wisdom of nature with the dignity of farmers.
In 2014, with the support of NABARD, we brought farmers together, formed Farmers Clubs, and encouraged them to cultivate medicinal plants instead of depending only on traditional crops.
We started with Ashwagandha.
Many thought it was just another medicinal herb. We saw something more – a crop that could restore hope. We stood beside our farmers with training, guidance, and assured markets. Slowly, barren fields turned green, and uncertainty turned into confidence.
Then came Brahmi, cultivated across the coastal regions of West Bengal through buy-back agreements that guaranteed farmers a fair market. Soon after, Tulsi and Kapoor Kachari followed.
What happened next was more than business.
Families who once worried about tomorrow began dreaming about education for their children. Farmers who struggled with unstable incomes found confidence in sustainable cultivation. Fields became greener, homes became happier, and hope took root.
Many farmers doubled their income – not because of charity, but because of partnership.
Our efforts were nationally recognized by the Ministry of AYUSH and the National Medicinal Plants Board in 2023.Yet our greatest reward has never been an award.
It has always been the smile of a farmer after a successful harvest.
In 2025, we carried this journey one step further by creating Leaf & Root – Wellbeing.
